In the state of Massachusetts all 8th grade and high school students must complete a student-led civics project.  They are asked to not only learn about civics and government but to apply what they learn by taking action in their communities.

Our 6 step guide is based on the Massachusetts Six Stages of Student Led Civics.  Activecivics.com is intended to help students and teachers meet the Massachusetts civics project based learning standards and to be used by anyone looking to actively engage in civics.  We hope you find the guide helpful and appreciate your feedback or suggestions.
